About the Opportunity
This is a pooling posting; your application will be paired with an existing vacancy.
Under the direction of the Manager of Nutrition and Food Services (NFS), the Nutrition and Food Service Supervisor is accountable for the frontline oversight of staff, daily operations, meal service and delivery, ensuring safe and efficient functioning of designated work areas. The Supervisor serves as an ambassador and liaison within the integrated model of Nutrition and Food Services, acting as a resource and leader for employees in the area and remote sites. As part of the management team, the Supervisor aids in executing administrative and operational functions within assigned areas in alignment with the NFS strategic plan. The Supervisor is dedicated to patient safety through ongoing quality assurance and improvements (food safety) and coordination of tasks.
About You
We welcome applications from individuals who possess the following qualifications:
- Completion of a post-secondary degree in Nutrition (preferred) or a recognized course in Food and Nutrition Management.
- Journeyman Cook Certification is advantageous.
- Completion of an Advanced Food Safety Certification and HACCP Training.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in food service or clinical nutrition management or leadership and operations (recent relevant experience within the last 5 years preferred).
- Experience in a healthcare setting and unionized environment is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in customer-focused food service operations; familiarity with room service models is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, staff management, and coaching in a unionized environment; ability to hire, develop, and retain solid performers.
- Proven judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Accountability in fiscal management, quality improvement, food safety, effective use of food resources, policy implementation, and creating supportive environments for healthy eating.
- People-oriented; demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Commitment to providing customer-focused service that supports person-centered care.
- Demonstrated conflict resolution skills and a positive approach to change management.
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel to other sites or throughout the province as required; valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle is necessary.
- Competencies in additional languages are an asset, with French being preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
$37.38 Hourly
