Compensation: $125,000 - $135,000 CAD annually

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine therapeutic procedures
  • Perform veterinary surgeries for both routine and emergency cases
  • Manage patient records efficiently
  • Oversee post-operative care
  • Ensure accurate billing for clients
  • Engage in ongoing education and training
  • Examine animals to diagnose health issues through physical assessments or lab tests
  • Prescribe medications for sick or injured animals
  • Advise pet owners on preventive healthcare and execute medical and surgical procedures, including vaccinations and dental care
  • Consult with clients regarding pet hygiene and overall care
  • Provide a variety of veterinary services, including obstetrics and euthanasia
  • Implement wellness programs focusing on vaccinations, nutrition, and weight management
  • Adhere to government regulations concerning disease control and food safety
  • Maintain clinic workflow and meet scheduled appointment times
  • Participate in monthly team meetings, contributing ideas and feedback to enhance clinic operations and patient care

Qualifications:

  • Degree in veterinary medicine (4-5 years) along with any necessary pre-veterinary studies
  • 1-2 years of experience in small animal practice, specifically with cats and dogs
  • Completion of national certification examinations or equivalent
  • Provincial licensing in British Columbia or the ability to obtain it
  • Expertise in anesthesia protocols
  • Strong surgical capabilities, particularly in soft tissue procedures
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage patient care effectively
  • Passionate about veterinary medicine with a positive attitude
  • Desire to educate clients and build strong relationships
  • Solid interpersonal communication skills
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends
