Compensation: $125,000 - $135,000 CAD annually

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine therapeutic procedures
  • Perform surgical operations for both routine and emergency cases
  • Manage patient records effectively
  • Monitor post-operative recovery
  • Ensure accurate billing for clients
  • Engage in ongoing education and training
  • Examine animals to diagnose health issues through physical assessments or lab tests
  • Prescribe medications for sick or injured animals
  • Advise pet owners on preventive healthcare and execute medical and surgical tasks, including vaccinations and dental care
  • Guide clients on hygiene and overall pet care
  • Provide a comprehensive range of veterinary services, including obstetrics and humane euthanasia
  • Promote wellness programs, vaccinations, nutrition, and weight management
  • Enforce regulations related to disease control and food safety
  • Maintain the clinic's workflow and adhere to scheduled appointments
  • Participate in monthly veterinary meetings and contribute constructive feedback for clinic improvement

Qualifications:

  • 4-5 year degree in veterinary medicine, including any necessary pre-veterinary studies
  • 1-2 years of experience in small animal practice, particularly with cats and dogs
  • Completion of national certification exams or equivalent is mandatory
  • Provincial licensing in British Columbia is essential or the ability to obtain it
  • Expertise in anesthesia protocols
  • Strong surgical capabilities, particularly in soft tissue procedures
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication skills and time management
  • Passionate about veterinary care with a positive attitude
  • Desire to educate clients and build strong relationships
  • Effective communication skills for client interactions and teamwork
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends
