Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinarian Associate to join our team at Accoravillage. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and delivering high-quality medical services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine therapeutic procedures and provide medical care to animals in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Conduct veterinary surgery in routine and emergency cases, ensuring the highest level of care and attention to detail.
  • Manage patient records accurately and efficiently, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Provide post-operative care and monitor patient recovery, ensuring a smooth and successful outcome.
  • Accurately bill clients for services rendered, maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Participate in continuing education and stay up-to-date with the latest medical advancements and best practices in veterinary medicine.
  • Examine animals and diagnose problems or diseases through physical examinations or laboratory tests, providing accurate and timely diagnoses.
  • Prescribe medication to sick or injured animals, ensuring the highest level of care and attention to detail.
  • Consult with pet owners on preventive healthcare and provide medical and surgical procedures, such as vaccinations, dental work, and fractures.
  • Consult clients on hygiene and general care of their pets, providing expert advice and guidance.
  • Provide a range of veterinary services, including obstetrics and euthanasia, with compassion and empathy.
  • Offer general wellness and vaccinations, nutrition, and weight management programs, promoting healthy lifestyles for pets.
  • May enforce government regulations in disease control and food production, ensuring compliance and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Keep up with the flow of the clinic and meet expected appointment times, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Attend team meetings and contribute ideas and feedback to improve the health of the clinic and patients.

Requirements:

  • 4-5 year university degree in veterinary medicine, including any required pre-veterinary studies.
  • 1-2 years of experience in small animal medicine, including both cats and dogs.
  • Completion of national certification examinations or equivalent is required.
  • Provincial licensing in the relevant province is required or ability to obtain.
  • Proficiency in anesthesia protocols and strong surgical skills, including all soft tissue surgeries.
  • Self-starter with strong communication skills, ability to manage patient care and time.
  • Passion for veterinary medicine and a positive attitude are essential.
  • Strong desire to educate and build solid relationships with clients.
  • Solid communication skills, both when dealing with clients and interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends, as required.
