Customer Service Representative

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Customer Service Representative to join our team at Watson Building Supplies, a GMS Company. As a key member of our customer-facing team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all customers and employees.
Key Responsibilities- Customer Service Ambassador: Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers, maintaining a high level of professionalism and courtesy at all times.
- Safety Culture and Efficiency: Emphasize the importance of a safety culture, customer service, and efficiency as top priorities, working closely with other team members to ensure a high level of effectiveness.
- Business Development: Assist with business development through phone sales, contacting key or dormant accounts to promote products and services, and working with outside sales to quote and administer sales.
- Ad Hoc Reporting and Tracking: Perform ad hoc reporting and tracking of sales activity, providing timely and accurate information to management.
- Customer Service and Communication: Provide excellent customer service and communication, both in-store and through other channels, ensuring that customer needs are met and exceeded.
- Store Administration: Assist with store administration, including inventory management, maintenance, and accuracy, as well as handling invoices, transfers, and credits.
- Document Management: Manage documents, including POs, SOs, transfers, and credits, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Communication and Reporting: Communicate issues and successes to management in a timely manner, providing regular updates and reports as required.
- Health and Safety Conscious: Demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety, ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and others.
- Team Player: Ability to take direction and promote a team atmosphere at all times, working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve common goals.
- Education and Experience: University degree or diploma in business or equivalent experience and on-the-job training, with previous experience in the building materials supply industry preferred.
- Communication Skills: High degree of reading, writing, numeracy, and oral communication skills, with the ability to speak, read, and write in English.
- Problem-Solving and Time Management: Ability to problem-solve, prioritize, and manage multiple assignments, working effectively under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
- Computer Skills: Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel (pivot tables and reports), Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for long periods, lift and carry up to 20 lbs, climb stairs, and bend and stand with weight.
