Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable individual to join our growing Lab Service team as a Mass Spectrometry Specialist. This critical role focuses on Mass Spectrometry (MS) operations, and the ideal candidate will have a strong interest in biomedical research and expertise in proteomic analysis by mass spectrometry.
Responsibilities- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on instruments, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
- Prepare and run samples, utilizing expertise in chromatography and mass spectrometry instrumentation.
- Assist with experimental design involving LC-MS, applying knowledge of proteomics and mass spectrometry principles.
- Perform instrument troubleshooting, utilizing strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Prepare and manage data files for external users, ensuring accurate and efficient data transfer.
- MSc/PhD in Analytical or Bioanalytical Chemistry is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience working with chromatography and mass spectrometry instrumentation in an academic or industrial setting.
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Experience with Orbitrap and/or timsTOF mass spectrometers is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in instrument software such as Xcalibur, FreeStyle, and Bruker Flex Control and Analysis is an asset.
- Safety certifications (e.g., General Laboratory Safety, Laboratory Biosafety, WHMIS, Compressed Gas training) are an asset.
- A competitive salary range of $70,000.00-$75,000.00 per year.
