Position Overview:

Aecon is actively seeking a Railway Trackworks Project Coordinator to contribute to our ongoing infrastructure initiatives. This role is pivotal in managing trackworks construction and planning for both new and existing operational frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in defining method statements for project execution.
  • Collaborate closely with the procurement department to support the acquisition of supplies, rentals, and subcontractor services.
  • Participate in training programs for local personnel regarding Track Works, contributing to content development and serving as a trainer.
  • Plan and oversee project activities, including management of staff and equipment, while monitoring overall project progress and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Engage in client meetings to provide updates on various workstreams, present business cases, and address any inquiries or comments.
  • Support various departments such as Planning, Cost Control, Estimating, Scheduling, and Quality Assurance.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including subcontractors and union representatives, to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Manage contract variations and oversee invoicing processes.
  • Adapt to different work shifts as required.
  • Promote an inclusive culture that values diverse perspectives and fosters career development.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in a similar role with proven management capabilities.
  • Strong background in contract and financial management.
  • Experience in consultancy for railway projects.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written, in a professional context.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and adapt to changing environments.
  • Design experience in railway projects is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Metrolinx and Class I railroad environments is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of BIM and collaborative procedures is a plus.
