Role Overview: Aecon is currently seeking a Railway Trackworks Project Coordinator to oversee the GO Rail Expansion (RER) project. This significant initiative is the largest capital infrastructure project in Ontario's historic GO Rail Expansion program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support in trackworks construction and planning for both new and existing infrastructure, including installation or substitution of special trackworks, new track construction, track renewal, earthworks, and cable containment installation.
  • Collaborate with the procurement department to provide ongoing support regarding supplies, rentals/leasing, and subcontractors.
  • Participate in training programs for local staff related to Track Works, contributing to content development and serving as a trainer.
  • Plan and manage project works, including staff and equipment, while monitoring overall progress and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Facilitate meetings to provide updates on various workstreams, including planning, cost control, estimating, scheduling, design/technical office, health and safety, and quality assurance/control.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders, including subcontractors, clients, and union representatives, to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies, manage variations in agreements, and adapt to shifting priorities.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in a similar role with prior management experience.
  • Demonstrated contract and financial management experience.
  • Consultancy experience in railway projects.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written, in a professional environment.
  • Ability to adapt to different environments and shifting priorities.
  • Design experience in railway projects is preferred.
  • Experience working in rail environments is an asset.
  • Knowledge of BIM and collaborative procedures is advantageous.
