Job Description

AECOM is seeking a candidate for the role of Railway Project Engineer. Based in Moncton, New Brunswick, the responsibilities for the position will include, but are not necessarily limited to:

  1. Work on yard, siding, mainline, customer facility, and bridge projects;
  2. Project management, which includes, but is not limited to:
    1. Preparing and managing scopes, schedules, and budgets;
    2. Reviewing documents;
    3. Conducting and attending meetings;
    4. Frequent site visits;
    5. Reporting;
    6. Preparing bid documents;
    7. Preparing and updating risk management documentation;
    8. Providing oversight to projects during construction;
    9. Contract administration (invoice review, progress payment review and endorsement, preparation of project closeout documents, submittal review);
    10. Material ordering;
  3. Design and regulatory reviews;
  4. Providing engineering support to various railway company departments;
  5. Cost estimating;
  6. Coordination of third-party projects;
  7. Acting as the point of contact for Municipality and issues pertaining to engineering;
  8. Providing on-call services including emergency response (providing engineering support on-site in real-time);
  9. Utility crossing and at-grade crossing reviews (including performing crossing safety assessments);
  10. Coordinating and managing work permit applications from third parties or contractors for working on railroad property;
  11. Coordination of flagging;
  12. Reviewing work on-site for general conformity to plans, specifications, regulations, and safety requirements;
  13. Stakeholder Management.
Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  1. University degree in Civil Engineering;
  2. 4 years experience;
  3. Experience with railway projects;
  4. Experience in project management;
  5. Written and spoken English language proficiency;
  6. Valid driver's license;
  7. No criminal record.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. 8 years experience;
  2. Experience working for a railway;
  3. French language proficiency.
