Simon Fraser University's Faculty of Applied Sciences seeks a dedicated Advancement Officer, Leadership Giving to cultivate and manage relationships with prospective donors.

As a key member of the Advancement Team, you will play a vital role in securing financial support for students and strategic initiatives within the Faculty of Applied Sciences. Your expertise in identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gifts from alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and community members will be instrumental in driving our fundraising success.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to engage with a portfolio of donor prospects capable of making annual leadership gifts ranging from $1,000 to $10,000.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with individuals who have the potential to upgrade their giving to major and planned gift levels ($10,000 to $250,000).
  • Collaborate closely with faculty Major Gift Fundraisers to develop strategies for donor upgrading and pipeline development.
  • Prepare compelling proposals tailored to individual donors and corporations.
  • Create and execute donor engagement plans that foster meaningful connections and cultivate long-term philanthropic partnerships.

Your Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, coupled with four years of proven experience in fundraising or a related area.
  • Demonstrated success in developing proposals for individuals and corporations.
  • Experience in crafting and implementing donor engagement plans.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
