Job Overview:

The Wholesale Banking Finance Division is tasked with formulating and executing financial strategies, providing essential information, and delivering management support within the organization. A critical role within this division involves the supervision and governance associated with the execution and reporting of fair value, aligning with the bank's operational goals. The ideal candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure that business units comply with established policies and procedures, while also confirming the effectiveness of controls.
Within Wholesale Finance, the Product Oversight Team is accountable for ensuring the overall integrity, accuracy, and promptness of optimized processes and controls for financial reporting.
Product Oversight serves as the primary liaison for Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Attribution, and Independent Pricing Verification & Valuation Adjustments reporting and initiatives, requiring a comprehensive understanding of the products, valuations, and risks associated with the business.
The Product Oversight team is responsible for delivering reporting, analysis, investigation, and insights for a diverse array of client business lines, including equity derivatives, fixed income, credit derivatives, commodities, foreign exchange, and more.

As a member of the Product Oversight team, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Ensuring robust financial controls and efficient processes surrounding Profit & Loss, Attribution, Balance Sheet, and Independent Pricing Verification and Valuation Adjustment processes.
  2. Proactively challenging, proposing, and advocating for projects aimed at enhancing efficiencies, thereby providing more effective business support through comprehensive controls and ongoing process improvements.
  3. Acting as the business product oversight function and the financial steward of the bank's sales and trading operations.
  4. Ensuring that the overall Product Oversight function conducts independent validation of the trading portfolios/books' value.
  5. Collaborating with business units and new product groups to assess and integrate new products and services into our financial framework, establishing appropriate controls to maintain the integrity of financial records.
  6. Providing reliable and meaningful financial information to business managers, external stakeholders, and other relevant internal parties.
  7. Working closely with the trading desk, trade support, syndicate accounting, technology, financial control, and other infrastructure areas to guarantee timely and accurate financial reporting.
  8. Proactively partnering with and supporting the business to develop operational, financial, and strategic initiatives for the organization.
  9. Ensuring alignment between business objectives and enterprise financial goals/thresholds.
Qualifications:


• Comprehensive knowledge of financial derivatives, valuations, accounting, and control practices acquired through academic training or practical experience.

• Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration with business partners, stakeholders, and colleagues at all organizational levels.

• Ability to exhibit strategic thinking, business insight, problem-solving, and analytical capabilities; possessing the ability to perceive the broader context in a complex environment through sound judgment.

• Strong understanding of capital markets and the regulatory landscape.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python is considered an asset.
