Are you driven by a desire to leverage your technical skills in support of Process Safety Management (PSM)? We are seeking a Senior Process Safety Specialist to join our team. If you possess strong leadership abilities and excel in collaborative environments, we would like to connect with you.

This role encompasses providing Process Safety expertise, including leading and facilitating Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) across various facilities. You will engage with multiple organizational levels to foster and implement change.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8 years of pertinent experience in engineering, operations, or maintenance within an oil sands or refinery setting.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer.
  • Proficient knowledge of PHA methodologies.
  • Experience with tools such as PHA-Pro, BowtieXP, and Phast.
  • Familiarity with PSM Standards.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer guidance and expertise on Process Safety elements – act as a Subject Matter Expert.
  • Conduct Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA), and Bowtie analysis to identify and mitigate potential risks across the organization.
  • Perform and interpret consequence analysis to ensure consistent severity assessments.
  • Lead or assist in Loss of Primary Containment (LOPC) analysis and reporting to minimize the risk of significant LOPC incidents.
  • Engage in Process Safety technical networks.

Additional Information:

  • This position involves working in a collaborative office environment.
  • Standard working hours are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday.
  • Travel to various sites may be required.
