About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manufacturing Process Engineer Lead to join our team at Blackline Safety. As a key member of our manufacturing engineering function, you will play a critical role in driving operational excellence and accelerating continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and Develop Technical Team: Lead a team of manufacturing process engineers responsible for factory manufacturing capacity, yield, and productivity.
  • Root Cause Analysis and Resolution: Engage with product development and other disciplines to complete root-cause analyses of issues in product or process and ensure resolution.
  • Technology Adoption and Capital Projects: Champion initiatives to bring in new technologies and oversee capital projects to deliver step-change gains in productivity, capacity, efficiency, and quality.
  • Manufacturing Process Readiness: Ensure the manufacturing process team delivers on manufacturing process readiness for new product introduction launches.
  • Documentation and Process Development: Manage the development of documentation, procedures, and processes to standardize and improve manufacturing operations.
  • Equipment Development and Sourcing: Develop or source fixturing, tools, and other equipment to aid in manufacturing tasks.
  • Organizational Structure and Policy Development: Create new organizational structures and policies to develop departmental maturity and support organizational development initiatives.
Requirements
  • Exceptional Knowledge in Mechanical, Electronics, and Process Design: Exceptional knowledge in mechanical, electronics, and process design and troubleshooting.
  • Industry Best-Practices: Thorough knowledge of volume electronics and electronics assembly industry best-practices.
  • Manufacturing Line Design and Operations Management: Proven successes in manufacturing line design and operations management.
  • Leadership and Project Management: Successful history of leading engineering teams or managing projects.
  • Prioritization and Communication: Ability to rapidly and strategically prioritize and balance conflicting priorities, and exceptional ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English.
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma: Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment and Six Sigma accreditation, with demonstrated successes in applying tools and ability to mentor others in their usage.
  • Data Analysis and Acquisition: Data acquisition and analysis experience using databases and complex data structures.
  • Industry Experience: Experience with gas detection, PCBA manufacturing, product design, project management, quality assurance, injection molding, radio technologies, and metalwork are all assets.
