Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Unit Clerk to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a Unit Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and direct patients to the appropriate area, ensuring timely and efficient care.
  • Accurately complete and maintain patient records, including documentation and charting.
  • Act as a communication link between patients, families, and healthcare staff, providing clear and concise information.
  • Coordinate and schedule appointments, tests, and procedures, ensuring seamless communication with healthcare teams.
  • Perform a variety of administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and supply management.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a unit clerk or medical records role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in computer software and systems, including electronic health records.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current hospital-based information systems/programs experience.
  • Medical terminology knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions
