Job Description:
As a Unit Clerk at St. Boniface Hospital, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our healthcare team. Under the general supervision of the Manager Health Services and a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), you will perform clerical, receptionist, and related duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the healthcare team, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and managing patient records.
- Perform clerical duties, such as data entry, filing, and photocopying.
- Assist with patient registration, admission, and discharge processes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and reports.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff to ensure seamless care delivery.
Requirements:
- Successful completion of a recognized Unit Clerk certificate program.
- Ability to work in a windows operating environment.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to respond to a variety of simultaneous demands.
- Ability to perform as a team member and seek assistance as necessary.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Legible handwriting.
- Respectful and courteous telephone manner.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to interact well with others.
- Ability and willingness to work in stressful environments that may include aggressive and/or agitated individuals.
