About the Role:
- As a Unit Clerk, you will be an integral part of the healthcare team, performing clerical, receptionist, and related duties as directed.
- You will work under the general supervision of the Manager Health Services, RN, RPN and/or LPN, and demonstrate a commitment to the values, vision, goals, and objectives of the Region/facility/unit.
Responsibilities:
- Perform clerical, receptionist, and related duties as directed.
- Act as a member of the healthcare team, providing support to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and files.
- Provide excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
Requirements:
- Previous patient care experience preferred.
- Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required.
- Successful completion of a recognized Unit Clerk training program required.
- Medical terminology required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent command of the English language (both oral and written).
- Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
- General administrative and secretarial skills and ability to perform all tasks and responsibilities relevant to duties of the position.
