About the Job:
The Unit Clerk plays a vital role in the healthcare team, providing clerical, receptionist, and related duties to support the delivery of high-quality patient care. As a member of the team, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) and demonstrate a commitment to the Mission, Values, and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform clerical and receptionist duties, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and managing patient records.
- Organize and prioritize workload to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to provide exceptional customer service.
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, test results, and treatment plans.
Requirements:
- Successful completion of a recognized Unit Clerk certificate program.
- Ability to work in a windows operating environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to interact well with others.
- Ability and willingness to work in stressful environments that may include aggressive and/or agitated individuals.
