Position Summary

The Vice President of Finance plays a pivotal role within the organization, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer. As the leading figure in the Accounting team, this position is responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting functions across the Paquin Entertainment Group, including international subsidiaries and partnerships. The Vice President will collaborate closely with senior management to address operational challenges and drive strategic initiatives that support the company's ongoing growth and success.

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Finance

  • Prepare and present financial reports for the parent company and its subsidiaries in both Canada and the United States.
  • Manage tax planning and ensure compliance with Canadian and US corporate income tax regulations.
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and analytical processes.
  • Oversee treasury functions, cash management, investment accounts, and intercompany financial transactions.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Serve as a proactive leader in communicating financial matters to the management team, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Maintain relationships with lenders, investors, and financial advisors.
  • Report financial information to external stakeholders, including project investors.
  • Evaluate and provide guidance on new business proposals.

Exhibitions & Theatrical Operations

  • Act as a strategic business partner to the President.
  • Manage a specialized team responsible for financial planning, analysis, and reporting for the division and its projects.
  • Design processes and tools to assess business performance, enhance efficiency, and support real-time decision-making.
  • Oversee the exhibition settlement process.
  • Foster effective working relationships with vendors and local partners.

Artist Agency Management

  • Collaborate closely with the President as a strategic business partner.
  • Lead a team of industry specialists in financial planning, analysis, and reporting for the division and its projects.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the live entertainment industry, preferably with a promoter.
  • Demonstrated success in a senior finance role, such as Director of Finance.
  • Possession of a CPA designation and a strong understanding of accounting standards.
  • Proven leadership skills and a commitment to mentorship and career development.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with QuickBooks and tax regulations in both Canada and the US is essential.
  • Ability to develop strategic solutions and address complex problems.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices.
  • Self-motivated with a focus on personal and professional development.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of business drivers.
  • Organized, deadline-oriented, and adept at prioritizing tasks.
  • Proactive in identifying issues and implementing solutions.
  • Combines analytical thinking with creativity to excel in problem-solving.
