Position Overview:

We are on the lookout for a Vice President of Finance Operations to become an integral part of our expanding finance division. This role entails overseeing key financial functions including Controllership, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Integration processes, and Financial Systems management. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Finance, the Vice President will lead a talented team of finance professionals. This role is ideal for individuals who are results-driven, detail-oriented, and possess the ability to navigate complex financial challenges while thriving in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Your role will encompass, but is not limited to, the following duties:

  • Supervise the preparation of comprehensive financial reports, including consolidated financial statements and management discussion & analysis (MD&A), alongside internal reporting to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with finance teams across various business units to enhance the efficiency of the financial closing process, identifying automation opportunities.
  • Oversee the risk management framework and internal control systems, conducting regular audits to ensure compliance with financial policies.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, ensuring timely execution of quarterly reviews and annual audits.
  • Guarantee adherence to accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and tax obligations, including oversight of payroll processes.

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Ensure the timely completion of monthly and quarterly financial deliverables, including budgets, variance analyses, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Review and present quarterly results to senior management, providing insightful observations on performance metrics.
  • Recommend strategies to enhance return on invested capital (ROIC), working capital management, and other critical performance indicators.
  • Oversee cash flow management to ensure optimal utilization across all operations.
  • Manage the corporate budget and collaborate with various departments to develop accurate financial forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with debt covenants and maintain timely reporting to financial institutions.
  • Address additional ad hoc requests and projects as needed.

Acquisition Integration and Oversight:

  • Lead the financial integration of newly acquired entities, including purchase price allocations and alignment of accounting policies.
  • Ensure the accuracy of opening balance sheet accounting for new acquisitions.
  • Monitor compliance with post-acquisition timelines and requirements.
  • Oversee the implementation of financial systems across all business units, ensuring effective deployment and utilization.
  • Stay informed on the latest developments in financial systems and automation technologies.
  • Maintain data integrity and internal controls within all financial systems.
  • Conduct assessments to identify gaps and recommend improvements to financial processes.

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Foster a high-performing finance team culture that emphasizes accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Provide training and support to global finance teams to ensure compliance with international financial reporting standards.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in finance.
  • Experience in a global business environment with diverse currencies and time zones is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a public company setting is essential.
  • Familiarity with the software industry is advantageous.
  • Strong grasp of financial principles, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to manage a demanding workload and meet tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with a strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
