Position Overview
The Vice President of Finance will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Finance and will oversee the corporate accounting operations for Brookfield Asset Management and its affiliated companies.
Key Responsibilities:
The role encompasses, but is not limited to, the following:
Corporate Accounting
- Lead and manage all accounting operational activities, including accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Supervise intricate accounting transactions and ensure proper documentation of accounting practices.
- Facilitate intercompany reconciliations across various business units.
- Oversee the budgeting process.
- Address daily inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders regarding corporate accounting records.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare consolidated results for corporate segments, including necessary notes, for the global consolidation team.
- Develop analyses and schedules for management reporting purposes.
- Draft press releases, Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A), interim reports, and annual reports for certain affiliated publicly listed entities.
- Coordinate requests from internal and external auditors.
Team Leadership
- Provide mentorship and direction to the corporate accounting team.
- Train and organize staff to ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting functions.
Additional Responsibilities
- Evaluate current accounting operations and propose opportunities for enhancements.
- Assist with system implementations.
- Engage in special projects as necessary.
Qualifications:
This position presents exceptional opportunities within a dynamic environment. To be considered, candidates should possess:
- A CPA designation, with a minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in financial reporting, including at least 3-5 years in a leadership capacity within a fast-paced setting.
- Experience in preparing and auditing consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS / US GAAP.
- Strong technical accounting expertise.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities to meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems.
