Position Overview: The Salvation Army is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Residential Counsellor to provide exceptional support to individuals facing developmental and mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate personal growth and development for residents.
  • Advocate for the needs and rights of individuals in care.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of resident progress.
  • Encourage and promote independence among residents.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will hold a Developmental Services Worker Diploma or a related qualification. Certifications in First Aid, CPR, and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention are also required. Experience in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and dual diagnoses is preferred.

Skills: Strong counselling abilities, effective de-escalation techniques, and a commitment to the mission of The Salvation Army are essential. The candidate must be willing to undergo background checks and provide accommodations for applicants with disabilities during the recruitment process.
