Job Summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Part Time Residential Counsellor to join our team at Broadview Village. As a Residential Counsellor, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overnight support and care to residents, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to promote the social inclusion and well-being of residents.
  • Collaborate with the Residential Manager and other team members to ensure a safe and supportive living environment.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of programming in areas such as personal care and hygiene, advocacy, and community integration.
Requirements
  • Completed Developmental Services Worker Diploma or other degree/diploma related to human services.
  • Valid and current Standard First Aid Certificate and CPR Level C Certificate.
  • Ability to achieve Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certificate upon hire.
  • Valid Ontario Class "G" Driver's License and a current copy of a Driver's abstract.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 6-12 months' experience working with people with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges.
  • Experience with implementing Individual Support Plans.
  • Medication administration experience.
