Position Overview

The Food Service Supervisor at Banff National Park Cafe plays a crucial role in overseeing daily culinary operations, ensuring that high standards of food quality and service are maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work Scheduling: Develop and implement effective methods to meet work schedules.
  • Inventory Management: Order necessary food and kitchen supplies to maintain stock levels.
  • Staff Supervision: Oversee and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff responsible for food preparation and portioning.
  • Training: Provide training to staff on job responsibilities, sanitation practices, and safety protocols.
  • Recruitment: Participate in the hiring process for food service personnel.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all food and service adhere to established quality control standards.
  • Financial Planning: Prepare budget forecasts and cost estimates for food services.
  • Customer Relations: Address and resolve customer complaints or concerns effectively.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of inventory, repairs, sales, and waste management.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit detailed reports on operational performance.
  • Order Summaries: Compile food order summaries for the head chef.
  • Staff Scheduling: Establish and manage work schedules for the team.
Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of College or CEGEP program.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years in a supervisory role within food services.
  • Employment Type: Permanent position.
  • Language Requirement: Proficiency in English.
  • Work Hours: Expected to work between 35 to 44 hours per week.
