Position Overview
The Structural Engineering Division at IBI Group is engaged in a variety of projects, including commercial buildings and transit infrastructure. We are seeking a qualified Structural Engineer (SE designation preferred) to contribute to our dynamic team. Your role will involve structural design for various projects, including commercial structures and transit systems. Additionally, you will provide construction support as required.
This position is part of our global business sector focused on creating, enhancing, and sustaining environments where individuals can thrive. Our projects significantly influence the quality of life, whether they involve new developments, public spaces, or essential infrastructure. Our goal is to design and manage spaces that effectively meet the needs of communities.
As a member of our Design and Engineering teams, you will have the opportunity to work on landmark projects that redefine the built environment, improving accessibility and fostering community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a team of structural designers to ensure successful project outcomes. Coordinate structural designs with other engineering disciplines. Collaborate with clients and external partners. Conduct structural modeling, analysis, and design work. Prepare and review technical reports and engineering drawings. Evaluate construction submissions. Identify structural issues and propose effective solutions. Assess constructability, staging plans, project timelines, and budget estimates. Work closely with construction teams to identify optimal solutions. Participate in client and stakeholder meetings as necessary. Address engineering and commercial matters with the construction team.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Professional Engineering registration with relevant credentials; SE designation is preferred. Over 6 years of experience in structural design for various projects, including underground structures. Proven experience with complex building and infrastructure projects. Experience with rapid transit systems (subway, LRT) is highly advantageous. Strong understanding of building codes and standards. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to produce reports and documentation independently. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Proficient in structural analysis software, Microsoft Office Suite, and PDF editing tools. Willingness to work in both office and field environments, with travel to project sites as needed.Additional Information
