Senior Structural Engineer

Wood is seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our Minerals and Metals team in Vancouver, BC. As a key member of our engineering team, you will have the opportunity to work on complex engineering projects and contribute to the planning, scheduling, and execution of exciting projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of structural engineering projects, ensuring compliance with North American engineering and design codes and standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop capital cost estimates and proposals for various phases of capital projects.
  • Develop and implement effective project management strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and designers.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, and apply this knowledge to improve project outcomes.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Structural Engineering with P. Eng. designation in BC.
  • Minimum 18 years of relevant structural engineering experience with various phases of capital and heavy industry projects.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in mineral processing and mining industry.
  • Dynamic analysis and design experience.
  • Site experience.
  • Authorization to work lawfully in Canada without sponsorship from Wood.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with STAAD Pro structural analysis, RISA 3D, SAP 2000, and S-Concrete.
  • Knowledge of steel fabrication and ability to work efficiently and demonstrate effective organizational skills.
  • Strong client management experience.
