Senior Lead Structural Engineer

Wood is seeking a highly experienced Senior Lead Structural Engineer to join our Minerals and Metals team in Vancouver, BC. As a key member of our engineering team, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and technically complex projects, planning, scheduling, and executing them with precision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of designers and engineers on schedule and cost-driven capital projects.
  • Develop proposals for various phases of capital projects, including detailed design and execution.
  • Conduct dynamic analysis and design, with a focus on steel and concrete design in mining and mineral processing industries.
  • Ensure compliance with North American engineering and design codes and standards, with a plus for South American and European standards.
  • Collaborate with clients to deliver high-quality projects, demonstrating effective organizational skills and strong client management experience.
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Structural Engineering with P. Eng. designation in BC, or equivalent in other jurisdictions.
  • Minimum 18 years of relevant structural engineering experience, with a focus on capital and heavy industry projects.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in mineral processing and mining industry, with a strong background in dynamic analysis and design.
  • Hands-on experience with steel and concrete design, as well as knowledge of STAAD Pro, RISA 3D, SAP 2000, and S-Concrete.
  • Authorization to work lawfully in Canada without sponsorship from Wood.
