Senior Structural Engineer

Wood is seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our Minerals and Metals team in Vancouver, BC. As a key member of our engineering team, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and technically complex projects, planning, scheduling, and executing them with precision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of structural engineering projects, ensuring compliance with North American engineering and design codes and standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve project outcomes.
  • Manage and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure their growth and development.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Structural Engineering with P. Eng. designation in BC.
  • Minimum 18 years of relevant structural engineering experience, with a strong background in capital and heavy industry projects.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in mineral processing and mining industry.
  • Dynamic analysis and design experience, with a strong understanding of steel and concrete design.
  • Experience developing proposal for various phases of capital projects, including cost estimates and project schedules.
  • Authorization to work lawfully in Canada without sponsorship from Wood.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with STAAD Pro, RISA 3D, SAP 2000, and S-Concrete.
  • Knowledge of Mathcad or Excel, Navis Works, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
  • Understanding of South American and European structural engineering and design codes and standards.
