About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Sous Chef to join our culinary team at The Algonquin Resort. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Cost Management: Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, and inventory to ensure optimal profitability.
  • Menu Planning: Collaborate with our culinary team to plan and execute menus that meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and train our culinary staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional service.
  • Inventory Management: Requisition and manage food and kitchen supplies to ensure seamless operations.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs to maintain a well-maintained kitchen environment.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all food meets the highest standards of quality, presentation, and safety.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by preparing and presenting dishes that meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with our culinary team to achieve our goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience: 5 years or more of experience in a senior culinary role.
  • Certifications: Safe Food Handling certificate or equivalent.
