About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Sous Chef to join our culinary team at The Algonquin Resort. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Cost Control: Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory to ensure optimal profitability.
  • Menu Planning: Collaborate with our culinary team to plan and execute menus that meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and train our kitchen staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional service.
  • Inventory Management: Requisition food and kitchen supplies, and arrange for equipment purchases and repairs to maintain a well-stocked and efficient kitchen.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all food meets the highest standards of quality, presentation, and safety.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate our kitchen staff to deliver exceptional service and maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 5 years or more of experience in a senior culinary role.
  • Certifications: Safe Food Handling certificate.
