**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Skyline Group of Companies. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the physical integrity of our buildings and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our tenants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the physical integrity of the building through general maintenance and upkeep of assigned properties.
  • Clean and repair items in vacant and occupied units, including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and other tasks.
  • Perform physically demanding work, including the use of ladders, power tools, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Apply knowledge of building HVAC, plumbing, electrical, DDC BAS systems, and life safety systems.

Requirements:

  • Proven relevant mechanical/electrical aptitude and trouble-shooting skills.
  • General understanding of basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve effectively.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and remain detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, push, and pull, as well as go up and down stairs.
  • PC skills are an asset (Word, Excel, email/web).

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma and 5 years of work-related experience.
  • Previous experience in residential maintenance or a related field.
  • Previous experience renting apartments and assisting tenants is an asset.
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation respecting residential tenancies and the rights and obligations of landlords and tenants is an asset.
