Position: Mechanical Systems Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Systems Maintenance Specialist to join our team. This role involves working collaboratively within a team setting, guided by the Lead Technician, to perform equipment evaluations and restoration tasks. The successful candidate will be trained to document all maintenance activities in accordance with our established protocols and methodologies. Additionally, the Specialist will gain exposure to BWXT's proprietary Waterlancing software for operational use. The role may require travel to various job sites as needed for maintenance outages.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute moderately complex technical tasks that contribute to ongoing engineering initiatives, under direct supervision.
- Familiarize yourself with Waterlancing operational guidelines and technician qualifications.
- Responsible for the setup and maintenance of equipment during project execution.
- Collaborate effectively as part of a larger team, with close supervision of your work.
- May be cross-trained to assist with Visual Inspection tasks.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Preferred post-secondary education in a technical discipline.
- 1 - 2 years of relevant experience is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work efficiently within a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Willingness to work shifts and extended hours as required for field projects.
- Significant site work is expected (50% - 60%).
- Previous experience in a Nuclear Facility is a plus.
- Knowledge of automation and control systems is beneficial.
- Demonstrates technical proficiency and understands the objectives of professional staff, requiring guidance from Lead Technicians and Supervisors.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance for access to nuclear facilities.
- Must be prepared to work in a radiological environment.
