Job Summary

The Mechanical Maintenance Specialist will work in a team environment, under the direction of the Lead Technician, to complete equipment assessment and refurbishment tasks. This role will involve learning to document all refurbishment tasks per company procedures and industry standards. The successful candidate will also be introduced to proprietary software for site use and will deploy to customer job sites as required for outages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake moderately complex technical assignments that are part of an ongoing engineering program in support of activities such as production, operation of equipment and systems, under direct supervision.
  • Review and understand operating procedures and technician qualifications.
  • Set up and maintain equipment during project execution.
  • Work as a part of a larger team, with work closely supervised.
  • Support Visual Inspection tasks as needed.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a technical field is preferred.
  • 1-2 years experience in a related field would be a preference.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work shift work and extended hours.
  • Extensive site work is required (50%-60%).
  • Previous experience at a nuclear facility is an asset.
  • Automation/control system knowledge is an asset.
  • Displays technical competence and understands the objectives of professional staff.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance to gain access to nuclear power plant sites.
  • Must be willing to work in a radiological environment.
