Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Planner to join our team at Martinrea International Inc. This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain, from raw material procurement to delivery to our production facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory levels, ensuring that raw materials and components are available when needed.
  • Supply Chain Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials, and manage relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Inventory Control: Implement and maintain effective inventory control systems, including tracking and reporting on inventory levels and movements.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies and other supply chain issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Communication: Provide regular updates to production teams and other stakeholders on inventory levels and supply chain status.
Requirements
  • Education: Post-secondary education in a related field, such as supply chain management or business administration.
  • Experience: 3-4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the automotive manufacturing industry.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, as well as experience with ERP systems and inventory management software.
Working Conditions
  • Work Environment: 80% office environment, 20% plant floor (PPE required).
  • Decision Making and Authority: Reports to the Supply Chain Operations Manager, with authority to make decisions on inventory levels and supplier relationships.
Physical Demands
  • Job Requirements: Prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
  • Visual Requirements: Close vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Lifting Requirements: Ability to lift up to 35lbs.
Health and Safety
  • Health and Safety Regulations: Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures.
  • Personal Protective Equipment: Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company.
