Ocean Freight Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Freight Logistics Specialist to join our team at Ontrek Logistics Inc. as an Ocean Freight Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities- Compile and Prioritize Orders: Gather and organize customer instructions and orders, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Develop Operational Plans: Create and implement specific plans to optimize logistics operations, including task allocation and resource management.
- Oversee Logistics Operations: Monitor and control the movement of supplies and materials, ensuring smooth operation of equipment and machinery.
- Coordinate Activities: Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure seamless communication and task completion.
- Perform Routine Duties: Conduct routine clerical tasks, including data entry, report preparation, and maintenance of work records.
- Ensure Equipment Functionality: Regularly inspect and maintain equipment to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor Workloads and Locations: Track personnel workloads and locations to optimize resource allocation and productivity.
- Resolve Work Problems: Identify and resolve work-related issues, providing technical advice and recommending improvements to productivity and product quality.
- Recruit and Train Staff: Participate in the recruitment and training of new staff members, ensuring they are equipped to perform their duties effectively.
- Coordinate Traffic Flow: Manage the movement of supplies and materials between departments, ensuring efficient and safe transportation.
- Estimate Materials and Labour: Calculate the required materials and labour for production, construction, and other projects, ensuring accurate estimates and timely completion.
- Monitor Production Progress: Track production progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to optimize efficiency.
- Prepare Reports: Compile and submit reports on production progress, work orders, and other relevant data.
- Project Management: Participate in project planning and execution, ensuring timely completion and optimal resource allocation.
- Provide Customer Service: Respond to customer inquiries and provide support, ensuring excellent customer satisfaction.
- Knowledge of Regulations: Possess knowledge of cross-border dispatching regulations and practices, as well as highway trucking rules and regulations.
- Dispatching and Communication: Utilize dispatching equipment to coordinate activities with vehicle operators and crews, ensuring efficient and safe transportation.
- 2+ Years of Experience: Possess at least 2 years of experience in freight logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Education: Hold a college or CEGEP diploma.
- Language: Fluency in English is required.
