About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ocean Freight Coordinator to join our team at Ontrek Logistics Inc. As an Ocean Freight Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our freight forwarding services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Freight Coordination: Coordinate the movement of ocean freight shipments, including scheduling, tracking, and communicating with customers and carriers.
  • Logistics Planning: Plan and organize the logistics of ocean freight shipments, including determining the most efficient routes and modes of transportation.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to our clients, responding to their inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including sales, operations, and customer service teams, as well as external stakeholders, including carriers and customers.
  • Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to ocean freight shipments, including delays, damages, and other logistical challenges.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit reports on ocean freight shipments, including tracking and monitoring shipments, and providing updates to customers and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field, such as logistics, supply chain management, or transportation.
  • Skills: Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of cross-border dispatching regulations and practices, as well as highway trucking and associated rules and regulations.
