Your Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that project setups adhere to established Project Controls processes and protocols.
  • Monitor, manage, and report on program and project performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead a team of Cost Control experts.
  • Provide guidance and propose solutions for issues that may hinder project objectives, along with recommendations to optimize overall project expenditures.
  • Oversee the timely and precise updating of cost reports at the conclusion of each reporting period for project control accounts to ensure accurate monthly financial reporting.
  • Analyze actual data trends and forecasts.
  • Deliver regular updates on project cost status and variances, recommending corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of commitments for purchase orders.
  • Provide consistent reports on project time accumulation, analyze budget discrepancies, and suggest remedial measures.
  • Ensure that PMET reporting is precise, current, and all variances are adequately explained and supported.
  • Contribute to client reporting.
  • Prepare forward-looking cash flow forecasts for projects and business.
  • Assist Project Control Managers in coordinating the change management process for the project.
  • Lead the deployment of ECOSYS within the project.
  • Collaborate with other project controls personnel, including fellow Cost Controllers and planners, to maintain an integrated cost-schedule project control system.
  • Work with planners to assess deliverables' progress and update estimates to complete.
  • Present information to team members as required.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Shared Services Centre (FSSC) to initiate, review, and issue client invoices.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all Cost/Finance related inquiries for the project.
  • Lead the preparation and support of government funding applications.
  • Conduct special assignments, ad hoc reports, and other related tasks as needed.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A university degree (Bachelor's).
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Cost Control, reaching up to Lead level.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple requests effectively.
  • Capability to oversee Programs (multiple projects and initiatives within a program).
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access database, including Visual Basic programming in both, is mandatory.
