This role is designed for remote work, and the selected candidate must be a resident of Ontario or Nova Scotia. Occasional on-site presence may be necessary.

VON Canada is a charitable organization dedicated to delivering clinical, personal, and social support services, enabling individuals to achieve their highest potential while remaining in their homes and communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the implementation of financial policies and protocols
  • Assist Finance department leaders
  • Drive ongoing enhancements within the finance function
  • Generate financial statements and analytical reports
  • Lead and manage audit initiatives
  • Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making
  • Supervise budget formulation
  • Engage in project teams and committees

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Post-Secondary Degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred
  • Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required
  • At least 7 years of finance experience, including personnel management
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian GAAP
  • Experience in financial reporting and process optimization
  • Familiarity with SAP, Board, Cognos, Procura, and AlayaCare is advantageous

Essential Skills:

  • Strong leadership capabilities
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient in conveying financial information clearly
  • Experience in transformation and efficiency projects
  • Advanced computer skills in SAP, BOARD, Excel, MS Word, and Outlook

Additional Requirements:

  • Criminal Records Check is mandatory
  • Vulnerable Sector Search and/or Child Abuse Registry Check may be necessary
  • Proficiency in French is an asset in designated areas
