Job Summary

Trade Craft Inc. is seeking a skilled Construction Foreman to oversee the execution of residential and commercial projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful completion of projects while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Prioritize work schedules, ensure quality control, and pace of work to meet preparation deadlines and standards.
  • Training and Development: Train or arrange for the training of workers in job duties, safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Construction Oversight: Assist in managing the preparation and execution of construction projects, planning labor, equipment, and material delivery requirements to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Safety and Compliance: Responsible for crew safety, promoting a safe work environment, and conforming to safety policies and work procedures.
  • Communication and Leadership: Communicate effectively and respectfully with all levels of coworkers, supervisors, clients, and public while providing leadership and supervision to the crew.
  • Time and Activity Tracking: Organize and track crew time and activity.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Complete timely reporting of accidents, near misses, first aid, and incidents.
  • Materials and Tool Management: Identify materials and tool requirements to be on-hand as needed.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure working tools are used properly and returned, and defective equipment is tagged and turned in.
  • Work Order Completion: Complete work orders and track field quantities.
  • Scheduling and Problem-Solving: Inform manager of any scheduling conflicts and resolve work problems.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete all required paperwork, such as toolbox talks, job sheets, traffic plans, etc.
  • Job Review and Planning: Review all jobs assigned to ensure no issues and plan effective use of all materials.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of Construction Foreman experience required.
  • Education: High-School Diploma a minimum, preferably vocational training and/or trade certificates.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Demonstrated experience in work organization and supervision of at least 10 people, knowing when and how to communicate changes or concerns regarding the job site, safety requirements, and staff requirements, etc.
  • Trade Knowledge: Experience with forming, framing, taping/plastering, and carpentry.
  • Blueprint Reading: Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and other various construction-related drawings.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Personable and able to interact appropriately with customers and suppliers; must be a good representation of the company.
  • Physical Demands: Punctual, reliable, and accountable for tools/materials being used on site. Physically fit (can lift 50+ lbs) and work in all types of weather and terrain.
  • Travel and Transportation: Can accommodate a flexible working schedule to accommodate client requirements. Hours may vary depending on the season. Must be able to travel across the GTA for projects.
  • Driver's License: Valid Ontario Drivers License, clean driving record.
  • References: Must be able to provide references for work performed and equipment used upon request.
