Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Site Supervisor to join our team at the Government of Canada - Central. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management
    • Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
    • Coordinate and schedule activities, including site preparation, construction, and completion
  • Site Supervision
    • Supervise and direct construction workers, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to complete tasks efficiently
    • Monitor and report on site progress, identifying and addressing any issues or concerns
  • Quality Control
    • Ensure that all construction work meets the required quality standards, including compliance with building codes and regulations
    • Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address any quality issues
  • Health and Safety
    • Develop and implement health and safety plans, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel
    • Monitor and report on health and safety incidents, implementing corrective actions as necessary
  • Communication
    • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and internal teams
    • Provide regular project updates, including progress reports and issue notifications

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in construction project management or a related field
  • Proven track record of successfully managing construction projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and quality control
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and direct construction workers
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address complex issues
  • Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, working on-site at various construction locations. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
