Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Site Supervisor to join our team at the Government of Canada - Central. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management
- Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
- Coordinate and schedule activities, including site preparation, construction, and completion
- Site Supervision
- Supervise and direct construction workers, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to complete tasks efficiently
- Monitor and report on site progress, identifying and addressing any issues or concerns
- Quality Control
- Ensure that all construction work meets the required quality standards, including compliance with building codes and regulations
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address any quality issues
- Health and Safety
- Develop and implement health and safety plans, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel
- Monitor and report on health and safety incidents, implementing corrective actions as necessary
- Communication
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and internal teams
- Provide regular project updates, including progress reports and issue notifications
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in construction project management or a related field
- Proven track record of successfully managing construction projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and quality control
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and direct construction workers
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address complex issues
- Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards
Working Conditions
This is a full-time position, working on-site at various construction locations. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
