About the Opportunity:

As a Talent Acquisition Consultant, you will report directly to the Manager of Talent Acquisition & People Development. You will be part of a collaborative team dedicated to ensuring a fair and equitable hiring process for both unionized and non-unionized roles, adhering to established best practices and strategic frameworks.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all phases of the recruitment process, including the creation of job postings, application screening, interview facilitation, and job offer extensions.
  • Conduct comprehensive intake meetings with hiring managers to clarify role requirements, discuss sourcing strategies, and finalize screening and assessment criteria.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements, collective agreements, policies, and best practices within the talent acquisition domain.
  • Foster a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment and selection journey.
  • Integrate equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives into the recruitment process actively.
  • Engage in the rollout of new strategic recruitment initiatives, enhancing employer branding and positioning Brock University as a preferred employer.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to the recruitment functionalities within the Workday system to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
  • Provide training for hiring managers on interview techniques and the Workday recruitment module.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • A university degree in a relevant field such as business administration, psychology, communications, or social sciences, ideally with a focus on human resources management.
  • Proven experience in full-cycle recruitment and a solid understanding of recruitment best practices and human resource functions.
  • Familiarity with applicable acts, regulations, collective agreements, and customer service standards.
  • Ability to interpret and provide recommendations in line with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle high workloads and prioritize effectively.
  • Commitment to principles of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
  • Excellent consultative, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Capacity to exercise discretion, sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Exceptional written communication and documentation skills.
  • Aptitude for evaluating current processes and utilizing metrics to propose enhancements.
  • Creativity in developing strategies for job advertising and branding.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Human Resources Professional (CHRP).
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Familiarity with Workday HRIS.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary Scale: K-level ($57,000 - $98,000).
  • Target Hiring Range: $57,000 - $60,000.
  • This position includes a comprehensive benefits package, eligibility for the Brock University Pension Plan, vacation time, and options for flexible work arrangements.
