About the Opportunity:

The Talent Acquisition Consultant will report directly to the Manager of Talent Acquisition & People Development. This position is integral to a collaborative team dedicated to ensuring a transparent and equitable hiring process for various positions within the university.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all facets of the recruitment process, including the creation of job postings, application screening, conducting interviews, and extending offers.
  • Engage in comprehensive discussions with hiring managers to ascertain role specifications, explore sourcing strategies, and finalize screening criteria.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, collective agreements, and institutional policies throughout the recruitment process.
  • Foster a positive candidate experience during the recruitment and selection phases.
  • Integrate equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives into all recruitment activities.
  • Contribute to the rollout of new strategic recruitment initiatives, enhancing employer branding and promoting Brock University as a desirable workplace.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to the recruitment system to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
  • Provide training for hiring managers on interview techniques and the recruitment module.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in a relevant field such as business administration, psychology, or social sciences, with a focus on human resources management preferred.
  • Proven experience in full-cycle recruitment and a solid understanding of recruitment best practices.
  • Familiarity with applicable laws, regulations, and customer service standards.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret policies and make informed recommendations.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Commitment to the principles of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
  • Exceptional consultative and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Human Resources Professional (CHRP).
  • Experience in a unionized environment.
  • Familiarity with Workday HRIS.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary range: K-level ($57,000 - $98,000).
  • Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Eligibility for the Brock University Pension Plan.
  • Up to three weeks of vacation per year, plus university holidays.
