Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our team at The Salvation Army. As a key member of our HR department, you will play a critical role in supporting the organization's strategic objectives and ensuring the effective management of our workforce.

Key Responsibilities
  • Employee Relations
    • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR-related matters, including employee conduct, performance management, and conflict resolution.
    • Investigate and resolve employee complaints and grievances in a fair and timely manner.
  • Workplace Investigations
    • Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into workplace incidents and complaints, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses as needed.
    • Prepare and present investigation reports to management and employees, outlining findings and recommendations.
  • HR Onboarding
    • Develop and implement effective onboarding programs for new employees, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.
    • Provide ongoing support and training to employees to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their roles effectively.
  • Performance Management
    • Develop and implement performance management systems and processes to support employee growth and development.
    • Provide coaching and feedback to employees to help them improve their performance and achieve their goals.
  • Compliance and Risk Management
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations, including those related to employment standards, human rights, and occupational health and safety.
    • Identify and mitigate potential risks to the organization, including those related to employee conduct, workplace safety, and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
  • University degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a human resources generalist role, with a focus on employee relations, workplace investigations, and performance management.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including those related to employment standards, human rights, and occupational health and safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with employees, managers, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
