Position Summary

As a member of the Corporation, you will be engaged in a municipal child care center that emphasizes a harmonious blend of stimulation and relaxation, essential for children's learning, growth, health, and overall well-being. Children are recognized as unique individuals, capable and curious, with immense potential. Each center prioritizes the needs of children, focusing on fostering learning in areas of belonging, engagement, expression, and well-being.

The Child Care Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious meals and snacks, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting in the care of children.

The position reports to the Program Supervisor, Child Care Centre, and includes the following responsibilities:

Plan and prepare meals and snacks in alignment with the Canada Food Guide while ensuring food supplies are adequately stocked. Manage food inventory within the established budget. Carry out housekeeping and laundry tasks. Adhere to health and safety protocols.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Completion of secondary education; or A combination of relevant education and experience Successful completion of a safe food handling training course (Level 1) Experience in cooking and menu planning for large groups Familiarity with the Canada Food Guide as it pertains to the Child Care and Early Years Act.
