The Role
As a Child Care Cook with the Corporation, you will be an integral part of a municipal child care center that emphasizes a harmonious balance of stimulation and relaxation, essential for children's learning, development, health, and overall well-being. Each child is recognized as an individual, capable and curious, with immense potential. Our centers prioritize the needs of children, fostering an environment that encourages belonging, engagement, expression, and well-being.
The Child Care Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious meals and snacks, maintaining cleanliness through housekeeping and laundry duties, and assisting in the care of children.
This position reports to the Program Supervisor, Child Care Centre, and encompasses the following responsibilities:
Plan and prepare meals and snacks in alignment with the Canada Food Guide while ensuring adequate food supplies are available. Manage food supplies within the established budgetary constraints. Conduct housekeeping and laundry tasks to maintain a clean environment. Adhere to health and safety protocols at all times.Ideal Candidate Profile
Completion of secondary school; or A combination of relevant education and experience Successful completion of a safe food handling training course (Level 1) Proven experience in cooking and menu planning for large groups Familiarity with the Canada Food Guide as it pertains to the Child Care and Early Years Act.For a comprehensive job description, please refer to the official documentation.
