Job Summary
The Corporation of the City of Thunder Bay is seeking a Child Care Cook to join our team at a municipal child care centre. As a Child Care Cook, you will be responsible for planning and preparing meals and snacks for children, maintaining food supplies, and ensuring health and safety procedures are followed.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare meals and snacks in accordance with the Canada Food Guide.
- Maintain food supplies within the established budget.
- Perform housekeeping and laundry duties.
- Ensure health and safety procedures are maintained.
Requirements
- Secondary school graduation or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Successful completion of a safe handling training course (Level 1).
- Experience cooking and planning menus for large groups.
- Knowledge of the Canada Food Guide as it relates to the Child Care and Early Years Act.
