Position Overview: As a Rail Freight Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for providing round-the-clock support for the precise generation and verification of Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) documentation. This role is critical in ensuring the seamless operation of our rail fleet and marine shipping activities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Generate shipping documentation for all rail movements, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and compliance with TDG regulations.
  • Prepare Marine Billing in accordance with established marine billing protocols.
  • Document and investigate Cintellate incidents as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of outbound and inbound shipments in line with TDG standards.
  • Compile and analyze various reports, ensuring the precision of time-sensitive data.
  • Review and verify shipping documents to confirm compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with resources to resolve issues related to non-compliant shipping documentation.
  • Conduct daily assessments of rail shipping documents to ensure adherence to TDG regulations across both Canada and the US.
  • Engage in process evaluations and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to foster positive relationships with stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Proficient in managing multiple priorities and meeting stringent deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Resourceful in problem-solving and utilizing available tools.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; experience in transportation, operations, or logistics is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations is preferred.
