Chef Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Chef Cho Restaurant Ltd.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Menu Planning: Plan and create menus that meet the needs of our customers, taking into account dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Cooking and Preparation: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, ensuring high-quality presentation and taste.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, providing guidance and training to ensure efficient and safe food preparation.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, ensuring that we have the necessary resources to meet customer demand.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Inspect kitchens and food service areas, ensuring that they meet health and safety standards.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees:
  • We offer mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees.
  • We provide diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees.
Support for Indigenous People:
  • We offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers.
  • We provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.

Requirements:

  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Permanent position.
  • English language proficiency.
  • 30 to 40 hours per week.
