About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Modeller to join our Critical Infrastructure team at Parsons Corporation. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the execution of multimodal transportation modelling projects and tasks, including day-to-day management of work scope, schedule, and budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement work plans for transportation modelling projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality project delivery.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations, and participate in client meetings, public information meetings, and field/site visits.
- Contribute to proposal preparation and coordination, including developing project understanding, methodology, work programs, schedules, and budgets.
- Assist with overall team management and building, including mentoring and developing junior staff.
Requirements
- University degree in Transportation Planning/Engineering or a related field, combined with relevant technical background and project management experience.
- 5-10 years of experience in multimodal transportation planning and/or traffic modelling and analytics, including master plans, environmental assessments, feasibility studies, and transportation infrastructure/systems preliminary/detailed design studies.
- Experience with transportation infrastructure and systems improvement practices in the GTA and a good understanding of transportation planning/engineering issues, challenges, and clients' and stakeholders' needs and requirements.
- Intimate knowledge of transportation planning and traffic engineering practices, including Travel Demand Modelling/Forecasting, Highway Capacity Manual (HCM), Ontario Traffic Manual (OTM), and multimodal transportation modelling and analysis methods/tools.
- Excellent working knowledge of and strong hands-on experience with transportation data management and analyses using GIS/databases, programming in C/python, and integrating, exploring, and visualizing data using tools such as Power BI.
- Knowledge and experience with advanced, automated mobility and/or smart city transportation solutions and applications are desired.
