Job Description

VIA Rail is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our team in the rolling stock modernization department. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for leading and managing projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement project plans, including resource allocation, timelines, and budgets
  • Lead and manage project teams, including project coordinators, engineers, and other stakeholders
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration with project stakeholders, including project sponsors, team members, and external partners
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, and develop contingency plans as needed
  • Monitor and report on project progress, including financial performance, schedule, and quality metrics
  • Ensure compliance with VIA Rail's project management methodology and standards
Requirements:
  • University degree in engineering, administration, or related field
  • 7-10 years of project management experience in rail projects or the heavy equipment industry
  • Practical knowledge of project management tools and methods, including Microsoft SharePoint, EPM 2010, and Project Online
  • PMP certification (an asset)
  • English/French bilingualism (spoken and written) is essential
